Passionate about landscape restoration
I am driven by a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, actively contributing to local projects focused on restoring ecosystems and enhancing public spaces. Through collaborations with professional landscapers, designers, and local organizations, each project not only addresses the immediate environmental needs but also serves as a platform for community education and engagement.
One noteworthy project is the Altadena Library landscape at the Bob Lucas Branch. Focused on showcasing native planting, habitat creation, and water capture through nature-based techniques, this initiative includes ongoing workshops and volunteer-led sessions. The transformation of an existing lawn into a thriving demonstration garden created lasting impacts on both wildlife and the local community. The garden has not only become a source of local pride but also a hub for community gatherings and events.
Transforming 4,000 sqft of parkway into a flourishing native habitat, the New Horizon School
Nature Restoration Project demonstrates the transformative power of environmental education. Integrated into a free workshop series, the initiative educated participants on regenerative approaches to positive land relationships. Beyond education, the project has become a symbol of sustainable urban development, benefiting both wildlife and the local human community.
At Aveson School of Leaders, our collaboration with professionals, families, and the Conservation Corps resulted in a play area for students that also addressed stormwater runoff and restored native habitat. This project exemplifies the power of community partnerships in creating lasting educational opportunities while building connections between people and their environment. Aveson, as a multi-faceted play area and ecological haven, serves as a model for how community partnerships can create educational opportunities and long lasting benefits for the local environment.
In essence, these projects exemplify my dedication to serving local communities while championing sustainable and ecologically conscious practices, embodying the core principles of regenerative landscape design. My commitment extends beyond immediate environmental improvements, aiming to create lasting impacts that positively affect both human and beyond human communities.
